Frequently Answered Questions
.................................................................................
We know you may have many questions as you contemplate an Alaskan fishing adventure.  We are happy to answer any questions you may have.  We would like to share our most common inquiries, hoping they will help you as well.

While there are halibut in Bristol Bay, it is too dangerous to fish them.  The tides are big, the weather is very unpredictable, and the seas can get to 20 foot swells in a short time, making it safely accessible to only the commercial fishermen.  Soon we will be posting links to halibut fishing guides located in nearby areas of Alaska.

  • What should I bring to wear?

Bring clothing for rapidly changing conditions.  Layering is recommended.  Fleece is a preferred fabric due to its quick drying capabilities.  Also, Under Armour is an excellent performance garment.  Click here to see our checklist of things to bring.

  • Do I need to bring waders?

No, but they are the best.

  • How do we get from the airport to your lodge?

We will pick you up upon arrival, and drop you off at your departure.

  • How far are you from the airport?

Two miles.

  • Where can we get a fishing license?

You may purchase one when you get here, or you may purchase one in advance at the Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game website:  ADF&G Administrative Services

  • How long do we fish?

8 hours, or until your arm wears out.

  • Can we walk from the lodge to fish all night?

You can, but that is also the bear's favorite time to dine....so you are on your own.
